fully functional fridge, stove, and sink. It still needs paint and canvass, though it now has 15" Alloy rims, great tires, shocks, brakes, house battery, upgraded headlights, rubber floormats, surfracks, tinted windows. I "only" paid 5500 for it, but I have At Least that much more into it, that I could never get back. I have an 85 2wd Westy that is a daily driver and I dont hesitate to drive 1000 miles in a day with it. Not to mention the wear and tear saved on the things that have limited life on a vanagon like the engine, tranny and tires. And the entire rental and gas might not be as much as the gas in a Vanagon. Some rentals are unlimited mileage, and you can get some little cars that get extremely good gas mileage. I've sunk a decent amount of cash into my Westy that I'll never see back and thats just the way it is with cars- tough to get a good ROI.Īnother plan might be (regardless of what vehicle you have out there) RENT a car to make those quick jaunts home. You will lose out big time on selling that beast right now. If this were a splitty then I think you'd have better luck but Bays just aren't commanding top dollar right now. Also you yourself went on about the tranny being shot, seals being shot, the battery tray being gone and increasing amounts of rust. I hope you get $18k out of it but be realistic- times are tough right now and selling collectors vehicles is tough right now as a result. I will be dropping the advertised price every few days, too. That's why there is an OBO on the advertisement. ![]() That being said, I'm sure I won't make $9k. I've put roughly $10k into this bus not including purchase price.
